Soviet bus stops

Canadian photographer Christopher Herwig traveled for several years in the former Soviet republics, covering a distance of more than 50,000 kilometers from Ukraine to Uzbekistan and from Armenia to the far east of Siberia. The purpose of this trip was to document the bus stations built during the Soviet regime and to understand how it was possible to create unique architectural objects at a time when architecture was standardized and subordinated to the ideology of that time.
