UrbanEye Film Festival 2023: 10 Years Anniversary Edition: Where to?

UrbanEye Film Festival reaches its 10th anniversary edition!

UrbanEye Film Festival celebrates its 10-year anniversary edition with the provocative theme “Where to?”, between November 8 to 12 at Cinema Elvire Popesco.

This anniversary moment is an occasion for introspection and reflection on our future. Looking back at our achievements and challenges, we now look to the future with curiosity and hope. This edition invites you to explore the changes that have shaped our cities, how society is redefining itself, and the great global challenges of the moment.

In defining this edition, I had three main directions in mind.

10 years of UrbanEye

Throughout this decade, we have dedicated ourselves to promoting and analyzing urban themes through film screenings, facilitated deep discussions, united diverse communities and contributed to the collective growth of awareness of the importance of urbanism. Step by step, we have consolidated ourselves as a platform for dialogue and exploration, with the aim of involving citizens in the development of the city.

A dynamic Bucharest

The last ten years have brought significant changes to the capital. The urban landscape transformed, civic initiatives took off, and evolution and regression went hand in hand. In this context, UrbanEye wants to be a catalyst for positive change, challenging the city and its inhabitants to become more responsible and involved.

A microcosm in a changing world

At a time when global challenges, from climate change to political-economic crises, are multiplying, the festival aims to provide a balanced perspective, revealing both the utopias and dystopias of the present and the future.

This edition will focus on films that illustrate visions related to the future of the built environment of both contemporary architects and 100 years ago, independent initiatives that follow the change of cities, and original archival films about Bucharest In addition, there will be direct exploration activities of the space, guided tours of heritage houses, and activities for children and young people.

We invite you to join us on this journey of rediscovering cities and their transformative potential between November 8 – 12 at Cinema Elvire Popesco and beyond!
