Siza

Pritzker Prize winner Álvaro Siza is a major figure in the history of contemporary architecture, with projects that have changed the urban landscape of many cities around the world. Although his name and his works are widely known, Álvaro Siza is a reserved and introspective person who prefers to stay out of the limelight. The documentary captures personal stories related by the architect’s sister and friends such as Eduardo Souto de Moura from which we learn details about his childhood, his relationship with his wife, his passion for sculpture or his admiration for classical music. By exploring the influences on Álvaro Siza’s life and career, a subtle and engaging portrait of the architect and his legacy in modern architecture emerges.
