Iași Memories

In 2013, Romulus Balazs, the director of the film, discovered a book highlighting an historic event of Romania, his native country, which he knew nothing about: its participation in the Holocaust. Browsing through it, he came across a series of photographs taken during a pogrom in the Romanian city of Iasi (the 2nd biggest city in the country). 74 years after the event, he went in Romania looking for the locations of these photos. In 2 years, he has found almost all locations and discovered the history of this tragedy.
