Butohouse

Butohouse is a captivating documentary film by directors Beka & Lemoine that tells a story of perseverance and hope by capturing the process by which Japanese artist Keisuke Oka builds his own house. He turns architecture into a spectacle using butoh dance as a source of inspiration – an avant-garde choreographic movement born in Japan in the 1960s. Architecture thus becomes a form of artistic expression through which Oka expresses his resistance to the chaos of urban life in the metropolis of Tokyo, but and his own struggles and frustrations.

Butohouse will be screened together with When we live alone.
