The Tingbjerg Experiment
A group of young, educated, and well-off families is selected to move to Tingbjerg, a disadvantaged neighborhood on the outskirts of Copenhagen with a history marked by conflict and segregation. As part of a social experiment, they purchase newly built homes at reduced prices, on the condition that they stay in the neighborhood for at least four years and actively contribute to the community’s development.
The documentary follows this initiative over the course of four years, highlighting both its well-intentioned goals and the tensions it generates: between the reformist vision of the newcomers and the attachment of existing residents to their neighborhood, raising questions about what urban regeneration and gentrification really mean.
