The Bubble

The Bubble explores life in the largest retirement community in America, a sunny and meticulously maintained paradise, featuring 54 golf courses and 70 swimming pools, sprawling over nearly 100 square kilometers and home to more than 150,000 residents.

Yet life in this place is not as idyllic as it seems. The film reveals how the surrounding population is profoundly affected by the community’s relentless expansion and consumption of local resources.

Reflecting some of the most contentious debates in American society — class and racial inequality, access to healthcare, civic responsibility — The Bubble offers a reflection on the American way of living and aging.
