Lost Silverfish of Berlin
In the former German Democratic Republic, the war left an urgent need for space, and some of the responses were innovative: the creation of ingeniously designed mobile and telescopic structures that served as emergency housing, hospitals, community spaces, or cafés. Some of them still exist today, yet they go almost unnoticed.
Starting from these forgotten objects, the film questions whether such structures can address contemporary urban challenges, showing how mobility, design, and history can inspire more sustainable and resilient cities.
The film is screened alongside A Gentle Pressure.
