In Search of Paradise Lost

In Search of Paradise Lost explores reverse migration in Romania, following seven city dwellers who chose rural life in search of simplicity and authenticity.

The film examines the diverse motivations behind this change: disappointment with urban life, stress, pollution, the desire to reconnect with nature, rediscovery of traditional values, and the search for life’s meaning, among others. Through portraits shot in villages such as Șomartin and Jurilovca, the documentary offers an intimate perspective on the experiences, challenges, and satisfactions brought by this radical choice.
