The fourth edition of the UrbanEye Film Festival will take place between 1-5 november 2017

The fourth edition of the UrbanEye Film Festival will take place between 1-5 november 2017 at Elvire Popesco Cinema and Apollo 111 Theatre. UrbanEye is a festival dedicated to all people interested in the environment they live in. Carefully selected, the films question subjects regarding the urban life and offer the audience the chance to discover or explore in detail new ideas and ways of approaching this matter.

So far, over the course of three editions of UrbanEye, the programme offered the audience films about habitation, patrimony, sustainability, design, urban development and more.

The fourth edition of the UrbanEye Film Festival will take place between 1-5 november 2017 and emphasizes relevant subjects highly topical today, like the quality of city life, the importance of pedestrian public spaces, the housing right, the reappraisal of cultural heritage and land art. Several films about cities and communities from countries like Lebanon, Cuba, Russia, Denmark, U.S.A will have their premiere at the festival.

The programme includes heart-warming and thought-provoking films, such as “Taste of Cement” (2017, d. Ziad Kalthoum), which depicts the life in exil of Syrian construction workers, “Citizen Jane: Battle for the City” (2016, d. Matt Tyrnauer), a documentary about Jane Jacobs, the one that changed the way we view cities or “Troublemakers: the Story of Land Art” (2015 d. James Crump), a film about the iconic figures of land art.

As always, the screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with our special guests both from Romania and abroad. The related events should also be taken into account: the “Understanding Design” exposition, design workshops and guided tours.
